What to Expect
Sunday School begins with a time of group singing in the main auditorium, where all children gather together for approximately 15 minutes. Following this, children are dismissed to age-appropriate classes for a 35-minute lesson and activity time.
During the summer months, classes are combined into a more open, flexible format.
Age Groups
Classes are generally divided into the following groups:
-
Pre-school to Kindergarten
-
Grades 1–4
-
Grades 5–8
-
Teens
-
Young Adults / University Students
Summer Schedule:
During the summer months, children from pre-school through Grade 8 meet together in a single combined group. Teen and young adult classes continue separately.
Teaching & Program Philosophy
Each class is taught by teachers who have a genuine care and concern for the children in their group. Lessons are based on the Bible and are presented in an age-appropriate and engaging way.
Children are encouraged to memorize Bible verses each week, as we believe the most important lesson a child can learn is what God says in His Word.
If a child does not have a Bible, we are happy to provide one free of charge. In fact, our entire Sunday School program is free, and we do not collect money from any child at any time.
Parents & Adults
While children attend Sunday School, a Bible message for adults is held concurrently in the main auditorium. Parents are welcome—and encouraged—to stay and attend.
Special Events
Throughout the year, we also host special events that are open to the whole family. These may include seasonal activities, fellowship gatherings, and meals. Families are encouraged to attend and participate.
Each summer, we also run a free day camp for children called Upwards! Camp. The camp is open to the community and provides structured activities, games, and Bible teaching in a safe and welcoming environment.
Safety & Child Protection
We take the safety and well-being of children very seriously. A child protection policy is in place, and all volunteers undergo a screening process, including a vulnerable sector police record check.
As of 2022, all volunteers also complete mandatory certification through the Plan to Protect program.
