Does Jesus see me when I’m hurting?

When life leaves you wounded, it’s easy to wonder if anyone notices. Jesus once told a story about a man who was robbed, beaten, and left half dead on a lonely road. Two respected travelers passed by without stopping. But then came a Samaritan—a man from a people despised by the Jews—who stopped and helped. “When he saw him, he had compassion” (Luke 10:33).

That story isn’t just about kindness. It’s a picture of Jesus Himself. We were helpless, broken by sin, and far from God. Yet He saw us and came near. On the cross, Jesus entered our pain, taking our guilt and shame on Himself. He paid the debt for our sin that we couldn’t.

If you feel unseen or too far gone, remember this: Jesus sees you where you are, He knows your wounds, and He offers healing and forgiveness. You don’t need to clean yourself up first—just come to Him in simple trust.
