The gospel call is both simple and urgent: seek first the kingdom of God. This message traces a personal journey from hearing the gospel as a child to finally believing on the Son, followed by a clear appeal from Scripture to seek God while He may be found. Salvation is not something to postpone or earn — it’s a gift to be received by faith in Christ today.

Message One — Believing on the Son

Growing Up Around the Gospel

The first part of the message shared a personal story — growing up in a Christian home, hearing the gospel from a young age, and attending countless gospel meetings. There was never any doubt about what the Bible said: “He who believes in the Son has everlasting life.”

But knowing the message and responding to it are not the same thing. For years, pride held back a heart that knew it needed to be saved. Like so many, the danger was not ignorance but hesitation — putting off the decision to trust Christ.

The Moment of Real Faith

After many meetings and conversations, one verse finally came alive: “He who believes on the Son has everlasting life.” It wasn’t about doing more or trying harder. The gospel became real when it was clear that believing “on” the Son meant resting completely on what Christ had already done. Salvation was not achieved through effort but received through faith.

At that moment, everything changed — not because of emotion or striving, but because of the unchanging promise of God’s Word. The burden of sin was lifted, and assurance came from the truth that never shifts: “He who believes on the Son has everlasting life.”

Message Two — Seek First the Kingdom of God

The Treasure Worth Seeking

Jesus said, “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.” The message illustrated this truth through the story of a man who spent years searching for lost treasure — because what he valued most was worth every effort. The gospel invites us to seek something infinitely greater: peace with God and eternal life through His Son.

The Danger of Delay

Many people assume there will always be time later to get serious about faith — but Jesus calls us to make it our first priority. We are told to seek first, not “when convenient.” Every other pursuit fades in comparison to the salvation of the soul.

As the preacher said, Satan doesn’t need to convince people that God isn’t real — only that there’s no hurry. But the Scriptures urge us otherwise:

“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” (Isaiah 55:6)

The Kingdom Is Near

To seek God’s kingdom is to seek the King Himself. Salvation is not found in religion but in relationship — in knowing Christ. When Zacchaeus climbed the tree to see Jesus, he was already being sought by the Lord who said, “I must stay at your house today.” The same Saviour still seeks the lost and welcomes all who come to Him in faith.

There is no greater treasure, no higher calling, and no more urgent invitation than this: Seek first the kingdom of God.
