What gives life true worth? In Luke 15, Jesus told a story about a woman who lost a silver coin. She lit a lamp, swept the house, and searched diligently until she found it. Why? Because the coin had value.
The Lord used this parable to show us the value of a human soul. Just as the coin bore the image of Caesar, every person bears the image of God (Genesis 1:26–27). Our worth is not determined by society’s shifting standards but by creation and redemption. The cross of Christ proves the infinite value of a soul — for He gave His life to save us.
Jesus said, “What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). Nothing compares to the worth of your eternal soul. Heaven itself rejoices when even one sinner repents and trusts Christ.
