The gospel is more than a normal message—it’s God’s good news about Jesus Christ. It invites us to be honest about where we’re going and who we’re trusting along the way.
A Question We Can’t Avoid: Where Are We Headed?
Many of us hope we’ll be in heaven when we die. Others think our good deeds will tip the scales. Some say, “No one can know,” and some believe there’s nothing after death at all.
But God hasn’t left us guessing. The gospel says you can know. He has made a clear, knowable way to Himself—one that gives real confidence.

Confidence With a Name
Reading 2 Timothy 1:12, we hear Paul writing from a Roman prison: “I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed… and am persuaded that He is able…”
Notice where his confidence rests. Not in himself, his record, or his religion—but in a Person. Jesus Christ. Paul trusted Jesus to keep what he committed to Him “until that day.”
Why Jesus?
Paul explains why Jesus deserves our trust: “He abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10).
That sounds strange from a man facing execution—unless death isn’t the end. Jesus died and rose again. He faced death, defeated it, and now offers life that death cannot undo.
The Only Way, The True Way, The Living Way
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
That’s not narrow-minded—it’s merciful clarity. God didn’t give us many ladders to climb; He sent one Saviour to carry us.
Are you on Christ’s way?

When Christ Finds You
Paul wasn’t always searching for Jesus—he opposed Him. Then he met the living Christ, and everything changed. The enemy became a follower. Disbelief and doubt gave way to certainty.
Real faith isn’t self-manufactured confidence. It’s the result of meeting Jesus and discovering He is exactly who He says He is.
What Christ Did For You
Why such confidence? Because of the cross. Jesus went there for a purpose—to bear the just penalty for our sin. He took our place so we could be made right with a holy and just God.
We’re all born wandering—trying to fill emptiness with what never satisfies. But Jesus opened a new way—a way that freely offers forgiveness and peace with God.
Where Is Your Confidence Today?
Is it in trying to be good enough? In a religious label? Or in Jesus Himself?
Hear His voice again: “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Come as you are. The work needed for your salvation has been finished by Jesus.
