Jesus Receives Sinners

When the critics muttered, “This man receives sinners,” they meant it as an accusation. Jesus wore it like a crown. In Luke 15:1–7, He lifts the veil on heaven’s heart: a Shepherd who searches, finds, and carries home a single, wandering sheep—and all of heaven rejoices.
“I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth.” — Luke 15:7
We’re reminded that being lost is dangerous—far from God, in the dark, and unable to save ourselves. But the Good Shepherd moves toward us in compassion, bears the cost Himself, and places us securely on His shoulders. Jesus receives sinners—that’s the good news that humbles our pride and assures our hearts.
If you want to understand repentance and assurance, this message will help. Watch the full sermon below.
